Physical Therapy + Pilates

Our Certified Physical Therapist, Jennifer Murphy, MPT, CPT, has an extensive background in anatomy, physiology and musculoskeletal pathology. Specialties include lumbopelvic and cervicothoracic injuries such as stenosis, degenerative disc disease, spondylosis, hypermobility, scoliosis, sciatica and nerve root impingement.

Pilates & Physical Therapy treatment techniques can include:

  • Manual therapy

  • Soft tissue mobilization and deep tissue massage

  • Neuro-muscular re-education

  • Postural strengthening

  • Core stabilization training

  • Therapeutic Stretching and strengthening

  • Pelvic floor re-education

A Physical Therapy Evaluation is required before booking ongoing sessions.

Evaluation: $175 | Single session: $175 | 4 Sessions: $640

Private insurance can reimburse a percentage of physical therapy patient fees according to your plan. Please consult your insurance company. Pilates sessions taught by certified Pilates teachers instead of a physical therapist are not reimbursable by insurance.

Jennifer Murphy, MPT, CPT graduated from Samuel Merritt College with a Master's in Physical Therapy in 2000. Her undergraduate work was done at Stanford University where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology. While at Stanford, Jennifer competed on the Track and Field team earning two-time All-American Honors, culminating in representation of the USA at the World University Games in Fukuoka, Japan. Post graduate school, Jennifer enrolled in a year-long Manual Therapy course with John Sievert, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT, NCPT in Grass Valley, CA where she learned advanced manual therapy techniques. Jennifer tried Pilates in preparation for the birth of her daughter in 2004 and found the rehabilitative aspects complimentary to her physical therapy practice. After completing her Pilates training with the Pacific Movement Center in Santa Cruz, Jennifer became certified by the Pilates Method Alliance in 2005.
